Over 40 drivers have shown interest in the FIA Formula E Championship earlier this year. Some of them are actually racing, most have never seen the all-electric race car. Nelson Piquet jr. was one of drivers pledging his support. Although he never belonged to a dedicated ‘Formula E Drivers’ Club’, he was targeting to test the futuristic racer anyway.

“This year is more open than I thought it would be”, said the 28-year old Piquet jr in February, as reported by ElectricAutosport.com. “My main sponsor, Worx, has lost interest in NASCAR and they are keen to enter Formula E.”

A shakedown and four official public pre-season test days have been completed, without the presence of the Brazilian driver. On Thursday, all Formula E teams will run a race day simulation at Donington Park behind closed doors. Piquet jr revealed himself on social media that he will be behind the wheel of Team China Racing. This team is yet to reveal it’s full driver line-up.

He found his passion for sustainable racing by joining world's first competition for hydrogen electric vehicles in 2008. He does not doubt on the possibility of a break through of electric racing. And that deserves a platform to keep up to date and to interact. Tim operates on behalf of Formula Blue Media.
