‘Monster Tajima to compete with Rimac in Pikes Peak International Hill Climb’ + video

Rimac Automobili from Croatia builds electric hyper cars, state-of-the-art powertrain components and currently expands its portfolio with new vehicles like the Greyp Bike. Another project that will be revealed shortly is the 1 MW+ race car that is currently being developed for this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

ElectricAutosport.com understands that Nobuhiro ‘Monster’ Tajima is to pilot the powerful electric vehicle. That is also an obvious observation as Tajima was spotted in Rimac workshop recently and the video shows the company’s logo at the steering wheel. The Japanese multiple winner of America’s hill climb competition aims to become the first overall winner with an electric vehicle.

His main competitor will be the Latvian based Drive eO, that is developing another one megawatt electric race car to compete in the same ‘race to the clouds’. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb takes place on June 28, 2015.

Rimac Automobili and Nobuhiro Tajima are yet to officially announce their cooperation and entry in the competition, which is expected next week.
