Title sponsor Amlin will split with the Aguri Formula E team after concluding the season finale in London this weekend, Motorsport.com reports.

An injunction hearing on Wednesday might lead to a lawsuit and subsequent trial. The possible reason for Aguri to go to court is unknown at this stage, but it might be a consequent of a possible move by Amlin to work with another team.

“High level sources have confirmed to Motorsport.com that senior Amlin personnel are believed to have visited and met with its intended future Formula E partner team earlier this year to potentially orchestrate the move to the team, which has yet to win a Formula E race.”

It is believed that the Aguri team has sufficient funds to complete season two in case a cooperation with Amlin ends.

For Amlin, an insurance company headquartered in London, it might turn out in an awkward affair at their home ePrix.
