Virgin Racing is set to announce a long-term Formula E commitment with Citroen. The French car manufacturer will supply the team with an electric powertrain under its DS brand. The partnership should last until at least 2019, Motorsport.com reports.

Sam Bird, currently sixth in the standings, is believed to race for the outfit in season two while his team mate could change. Jaime Alguersuari might be replaced by a French driver. Formula E racer Jean-Eric Vergne is believed to talk to different teams, including Virgin Racing. In addition Citroen WTCC driver Ma Qing Ha is in the picture for the racing seat.

Confirmation will follow on Saturday June 27 at Battersea Park, London.
