The FIA has confirmed new races on the Formula E calendar for season four. Santiago, Sao Paulo and Rome are now included.
The season starts with a double-header event in Hong Kong scheduled for 2 and 3 December, which is a later start to the season than in the first three editions. Formula E attempts to minimise the gaps between the events and the teams now have more time to work on the season four cars.
2018 kicks off with an event in Marrakesh before Formula E travels to South America for three rounds. Santiago is the first new arrival with a race on 3 February. One month later Mexico City will stage a round, followed by Sao Paulo on 17 March. While being shortlisted from before the start of the first season, Brazil will finally have its race.
The same counts for Rome, which will mark the European tour on 14 April. Paris follows two weeks later before a German race which will possibly take place on 19 May. ElectricAutosport.com understands that Munich has a good chance to fill this spot, although Berlin hasn’t been ruled out completely. 9 June would mark the final round in Europe. It is believed that Zurich is one of the possible candidates.
The season will be completed with double-header events in New York and Montreal.
