Sébastien Buemi has been disqualified from the first Formula E race in Montreal. His Renault e.dams didn’t pass the technical inspections.

Buemi crashed very badly in second practice and therefore the team had to build a completely new car that included a new monocoque, battery pack and gearbox. The team didn’t have the time to weigh the vehicle and therefore added extra weight to be sure it would meet the minimum car’s weight of 880 kg. But afterwards the newly built vehicle was found three kilogrammes underweight.

Therefore, Buemi lost his fourth position and with one race to go, he is now looking at a disadvantage of 18 points to new championship leader Lucas di Grassi.
